Make sure to identify the strengths and weaknesses of related research studies, with emphasis on the validity and reliability of conclusions and applications of the research. Tie this to your topic of interest and base recommendations for improvement, future research needs, and applications on the stakeholder groups involved (patients, providers, third-party payers, legislators, etc.).
Additionally, create 4 PowerPoint slides that summarize your conclusions and future direction based on the synthesis and evaluation of the research literature related to your topic of interest and area of application or function related to healthcare.

Globalization is an international phenomenon that has had an obvious impact on women all over the world

Globalization Project Globalization is an international phenomenon that has had an obvious impact on women all over the world. You must provide evidence from the real world that defends your choice. Your discussion should also include an analysis of the historical nature of globalization. You must include in your argument a discussion on the impact of globalization on women in both the Global North and Global South.Acknowledge (and then destroy) counter-arguments-Whichever side you have chosen to defend there is evidence to support the other side. You must acknowledge and provide a detailed discussion of the argument of the opposing view that you think provides the strongest evidence against your argument. You will then make a detailed argument of why your position is in fact stronger. BURCH- APRIL 20, 2013 THE BIOLOGY OF CANCER Short Answer: Please be concise with your answers and as specific as possible. 1. Genes involved in cell cycle activity/survival are mutated to contribute to the development of cancer. Name the two categories of genes related to cell division that are mutated and how mutations affect their function and lead to cancer. 2. How can active transport activity by cells contribute to cancer? 3. How is it that changes in membrane fluidity can lead to tumor development? 4.What type of standard treatment should be used for metastatic adenocarcinoma? Explain your response. 5. What type of secondary/alternative treatment strategy should be used for the treatment of hemangioma? Explain your response. 6. Assume that two individuals (A and B) develop the same type of cancer. Both individuals are given the best treatment found to be effective against cancer. Individual A responds well to treatment, while individual B does not. Using what you have learned, provide a specific type of cancer and an explanation for why there was a difference in response to treatment. 7. Name a type of virus that causes cancer and explain how it works. Include the type of cancer it causes in your response. 8. Genetic instability is the accumulation of DNA mutations, especially in cancer cells. How is genetic instability prevented in healthy cells? 9. Why does it make sense that the majority of cancers are non-hereditary? 10. What genetic profiling method do you think is best in identifying genes related to cancer? Include an explanation of why this method is better than other methods. 11. Which cancer screening method is best? Explain the type of cancer(s) it detects and why it is better than other methods.

Child abuse Mandatory Reporting
HIV Mandatory Reporting
The False Claims Act- the civil penalties
TB Mandatory Reporting

Note: Outline: Must use the underlined headings from the outline below in your paper and the paper must be in narrative form not outline or bullet format. 5% penalty deducted from paper if underlined headings not used in your paper.
1. Official Title of the Law or Laws:
State the official title of the federal and/or state law, the statute and section number. Must be either a federal statute or state statute and you must cite both if applicable. Thus if there is both a federal and state law that covers your subject picked then you must cite both. Do not assume that there is just a federal and or state law. In most cases there is both a federal and state law. You must use the laws cited in this section throughout the rest of the paper.
Health Care Organization’s Obligations to meet Patients’ Legal Rights:
Describe in detail two specific legal obligations, required by the federal and or state law, that a health care organization owes to its patients. Include the specific law citation that describes the patient’s rights. Use in-text citations for all statistical references.
Consequences for Non-Compliance:
First, discuss in general the civil and criminal consequences from either the federal and or state law. List the two legal obligations from the previous section, then discuss two (2) specific consequences from the federal and or state law, one consequence for each legal obligation, for the organizations’ non-compliance. Then for each consequence you must research and discuss one relevant real life case. In other words, you must discuss one (1) consequence for each legal obligation and have one real life researched case for each consequence. See outline below. Cases must be found via the internet or print media or from personal real life experiences. In other words, what would happen if the organization neglected to meet its obligations to its patients? Be specific. Provide the specific Federal and or state law citations to back up your claim of the consequences. Provide link to source of information.
1) Legal obligation 1
One specific consequence
One real life case
2) Legal obligation 2

Explain the importance of interaction between genes and environment, the role of endophenotypes, and the stress-diathesis model of psychiatric illness.

CHAPTER 1, Introduction to Psychiatric–Mental Health Nursing In completing the case study, students will be addressing the following learning objectives: Explain elements that contribute to mental health.
Review trends, problems, and goals related to the delivery of mental health care and treatment of mental illness.
1. Karen is a 25-year-old white woman who lives alone in an apartment with her dog. Karen has been divorced for 2 years and is taking Prozac prescribed by her psychiatrist for depression. Karen and her boyfriend had been discussing marriage until he told her that he wanted to end their relationship. Karen became even more depressed and could not work for a week. Karen returned to work, refusing to discuss her issues with family, friends, or coworkers. She did, however, make an appointment to see a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Karen told the nurse that she was making some changes in her life. Karen said that she and a girlfriend were joining a gym program for workouts and a social group for young men and women. Karen stated that she realizes that her former boyfriend had not been committed to her, and she anticipates meeting and dating other young men from the adult social group. Karen also said that she thinks that the gym exercise will be beneficial to her mentally and physically.
Learning Objectives: 1, 4)
• How will the psychiatric nurse assess if Karen has made progress toward self-realization?

• Identify strengths that Karen has for progress in personal growth.

Karen has been seeking treatment for her depression. Analyze the factors that might contribute to Karen’s reluctance to discuss her depression with others.
Case Study, Mohr: CHAPTER 2, Neuroscience: Biology and Behavior
In completing the case study, students will be addressing the following learning objectives:
Discuss neuroplasticity and how this concept relates to mental health and mental illness.
Briefly explain the importance of interaction between genes and environment, the role of endophenotypes, and the stress-diathesis model of psychiatric illness.
1. Michael is a 22-year-old college senior whose GPA has declined with this semester’s grades. Michael plans to apply to medical school and thinks that the lower GPA may prevent his acceptance to medical school. For the last 2 weeks, Michael has skipped most classes because he has insomnia and fatigue. Michael is now very depressed and has been thinking of suicide. He took a loaded gun from his father’s gun cabinet and then wrote a suicide note to his family. At the last moment, he telephoned 911 and told them of his suicide plan. The police came, took the gun away, and then took Michael to the city hospital to be admitted for psychiatric treatment. In the admission interview with the psychiatric nurse, Michael said that his pastor thought that only weak-willed people experienced depression and that it was a punishment for personal sins and the sins of one’s ancestors. Michael told the nurse that he must be weak-willed and will never be able to accomplish anything. The psychiatric nurse explained that multiple factors are the cause of depression. The nurse told Michael that one theory holds that an imbalance of neurotransmitters, or chemical messengers of the brain, occurs in depression. Neurotransmitters influence the individual’s emotions, thoughts, and subsequent behavior. Recent research implies that neurobiology, heredity, as well as Psychological and environmental factors may be involved in the development and progression of depression.
(Learning Objectives: 5, 6)
a. Will Michael think that the psychiatric nurse’s explanation for the cause of depression is more correct than that of his pastor?
b. Michael asks the nurse why he has to have psychotherapy. He states that he only needs to take a couple of pills to get better. How should the nurse respond to Michael’s question and comment?
