immigration-12

Using one point from each article, discuss how this research questions popular constructions of immigrant families. Separate each point with a number and separate them into distinct paragraphs. Sociological analysis, not opinion or personal experience, will be accepted as an appropriate response.

The assignment requires students to focus on one way in which the readings challenge popular understandings of immigration and immigrants. In other words, how does it question what one hears in the news, from politicians, etc?

That means, do not simply select parts of the article as *your* points. And, do not use part of the article that the authors actually refute to support your points because that’s what you *believe*.

You will need to clearly articulate one point from each article that questions popular views of immigrants and immigration. Otherwise, I cannot give you points.
