This project requires you to assemble, from varied sources, demographic, environmental and economic data on a particular urban region and place it in MS Excel. Then, analyzing the data and information acquired, answer several key questions on the impact of the urban region chosen, and its sustainability in the coming decades of this century. Choose an urban center or region from http://www.demographia.com/db-worldua.pdf
Preferably, the city will rank in the top 300 or so. Data acquisition could be a challenge for smaller cities.
Your project should have:

EXCEL CHART
Find the following data for your chosen region from varied online sources of your choosing, and create an excel table organizing the data by demographic, economic and environmental information. If some data are not available, indicate this by placing “NA” in excel.
i. Urban regional name (e.g. Washington-Baltimore MSA, or Greater Baltimore Region, Seoul-Incheon, etc.)

ii. total land area

iii. total population

iv. life expectancy

v. population growth trend from an earlier date to latest data
vi. GDP (official exchange rate or purchasing power parity; US dollars)
vii. GDP per capita (US dollars)
viii. ethnic/racial %s (particularly for a U.S. or Canadian region)
ix. segregation index (U.S., Canada)
x. Gini coefficient (a key measure of income distribution and inequality)
xi. % population below poverty line
xii. fresh water availability measure
xiii. global air pollution ranking or measure
xiv. Globalization and World Cities (GaWC) study group or Wiki ranking (note city proper or larger metropolitan area)
